'thank you' for arranging the wonderful safari Alexandra and I took...verything was perfect! We enjoyed ourselves immensely! We loved each lodge and camp and we saw so many animals, we were thrilled. We would love to return to Botswana someday and, in the meantime, we will encourage all of our friends to make the trip and to have Uyaphi Safaris arrange it for them. We couldn't have been more pleased.Thank you so much!... "

Pumulani Lake LodgePumulani Lake Lodge

Pumulani is an exclusive beach lodge within Lake Malawi National Park. The lodge has ten individually-designed villas spread out along a lush hillside overlooking the lake. Each villa boasts a large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck with lake view.

Guests can relax on the sandy beach or at our stylish infinity pool. For those seeking activity, there is waterskiing, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and birdwatching.

At sunset we offer scenic cruises on our traditional wooden dhow. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of Lake Malawi, described by the explorer David Livingstone as The Lake of Stars.

Nestled in lush hills above the still waters of Lake Malawi, our villas provide the ultimate in design and comfort. Their distinctive grass roofs reflect the heat of the African sun while the simple and elegant interiors ensure comfort and privacy.

Each of the villas is different, varying in size from a generous 125 square metres up to 175 square metres. Each has a large bedroom, a comfortable sitting area and a well equipped bathroom with bathtub, double shower and twin sinks.

The gently curving lines of the villas reflect the patterns of the lake, while interior design details are inspired by the surrounding nature – the beach, the flora and the marine life. The bedrooms open out onto private decking where guests can enjoy the morning sun, while the lounge areas have sliding doors that give access to a private deck with stunning lake views.

Watersports; Many visitors to Lake Malawi are surprised at the quality of the water - it is clean, clear and warm, with no currents and no salt content. This makes it wonderful for swimming, but also ideal for watersports.

Diving in Lake Malawi; Lake Malawi is the world's most ecologically diverse lake. Its crystal clear waters are home to more than a thousand species of fish, including hundreds of species of colourful cichlids.

Dhow cruises; What could be more inviting after a day spent basking in the African sun than a sunset cruise on a traditional wooden dhow?

Rates include;
* Full board, road transfers to and from Monkey Bay airstrip, laundry and drinks at bar.
* Also included in our rates are non-motorised watersports – snorkelling, fishing, sailing and kayaking – plus nature walks, village walks and sunset cruises on our traditional wooden dhow.
* International airport taxes, scuba diving, picnic tours and motorised watersports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, fun tube & snorkelling excursions) are not included.

Lake Malawi

Lake Malawi

The third largest in Africa and the eighth largest lake in the world, is located between Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania. It is the second deepest lake in Africa, although its placid northern shore gives no hint of its depth. This great lake's tropical waters reportedly are the habitat of more species of fish than that of any other body of water on the Earth.
